The largest collection of Batman-related costumes, props, and vehicles is coming to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC): DC and AT&T are collaborating to bring fans The Batman Experience Powered by AT&T, an interactive pop-up exhibition that will celebrate the 80th anniversary of Batman.
Custom-built by AT&T and DC, the immersive museum installation will bring fanatics to the Dark Knight’s crime-fighting world and include activities focused on virtual reality (VR) and gaming, according to a DC Comics, Inc. press release. The exhibition, which doesn’t require an SDCC badge, will be open to the public at the Comic-Con Museum in Balboa Park, California, from Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21.

“There isn’t a single fictional character that has endured and influenced pop culture like Batman has and this exhibition is a fitting tribute to that,” said DC Publisher Dan DiDio. “You get to experience Batman’s 80 years across every medium, from comic books to television to film and video games.”
Batman’s universe comes to life at The Batman Experience Powered by AT&T, where hundreds of rare pieces of large-scale TV and movie props and DC comic book art will be on display. Visitors will get to see the Batmobile and Batsuit worn by Michael Keaton in Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film and a new automobile developed by “Wayne Technology” that will give a taste of what the future could be like with autonomous cars with 5G.

The Batman Experience Powered by AT&T visitors won’t only see cool Batman memorabilia and art. The fun pop-up features The Dark Knight Dive, a VR skydiving experience that takes players on a bird’s eye trip of Gotham City, the Batcave, a gaming lounge featuring Batman video and arcade games, such as Batman The Brave And The Bold and LEGO Batman 3, and The Rogue Gallery Rumble, an interactive punching bag experience that leverages lights and projection mapping to trigger iconic animations and sounds throughout the area.
