There is nothing KFC won’t do for a marketing campaign.
The fried chicken chain has collaborated with Crocs to introduce two limited-edition pairs of finger-lickin’ good shoes.
The first—Kentucky Fried Chicken X Crocs Bucket Clog—is a “sky-high, platform avant-garde” slipper debuted by artist Me Love Me a Lot (MLMA) during New York Fashion Week.
Featuring a deceptively realistic pattern and a nod to the restaurant’s iconic red-striped bucket, the, uh … exotic shoe comes with two removable, scented Jibbitz charms that look like fried chicken drumsticks.
(Key word: “removable.”)
“Combining the unmistakable look of our world-famous fried chicken and signature KFC bucket with the unparalleled comfort and style of Crocs, these shoes are what fried chicken footwear dreams are made of,” KFC US CMO Andrea Zahumensky said in a statement.
A second, more consumer-friendly version of the classic Crocs clog will be available for purchase this spring.
“As Crocs continues to create new, unexpected brand collaborations, we’re thrilled with this ‘bucket list’ partnership with Kentucky Fried Chicken that will bring fans an unbelievably fun and fashionable take on our classic clog,” according to Terence Reilly, Crocs SVP and CMO.
Available in unisex sizes, the Kentucky Fried Chicken X Crocs Classic Clog will retail for $59.99. Fans can sign up online to receive a reminder when the limited-edition footwear goes on sale later this year.
