Here’s What Lego is Bringing to SDCC 2019

This year’s installment of San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner. The true believers at Lego will be on the Convention Center floor once more, and they’re bringing tons of great new stuff with them.

SDCC will be your first chance to view a few of Lego’s geekiest upcoming releases. Those of you who are attending will also have the chance to score some exclusive sets that can only be found at Comic-Con.

Let’s take a look at what’s in store.

That’s one of the new releases pictured above, Avengers: Endgame Hulk Helicopter Drop. The 482-piece set lets you stage epic battles between Black Widow, Hulk, Rescue and a pair of Chitauri soldiers. Black Widow can take the controls of the Avengers’ chopper while her Chitauri adversaries can take to the sky on the back of a leviathan.

What’s that on the Hulk’s mighty fist? It’s the Infinity Gauntlet, naturally. This set only comes with four of the Infinity Stones. The other four are hidden elsewhere in the Lego universe — the Avengers Compound Battle, to be precise. Helicopter Drop will set you back $59.99.

Next, it’s off to Tatooine for a pair of new arrivals. Take R2 over to Obi Wan’s hut to deliver Princess Leia’s secret holographic message. Luke can squeeze in a bit of lightsaber practice with a training remote and battle it out with a Tusken Raider.

There’s also a brand new X-34 Landspeeder for Luke to tool around in. This revision has some nice new details and includes Luke, C-3PO, and a Jawa who would love to swap some trading partner a shiny protocol droid.

These sets both come with around 200 pieces and sell for $29.99, but you’ll have to be patient. They don’t go on sale until January 2020.

Now let’s take a look at the SDCC exclusives that are on sale for 2019.

First up: this hot new Spider-Man minifig. He’s decked out in the Advanced Suit just like in Insomniac’s Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4. Lego counts this as a 3-piece set — pricing hasn’t been revealed yet.

Lego will have two more exclusives for sale. They’re detailed little scenes featuring Batman and Captain Marvel. Batman stands guard over Gotham as the Bat Signal lights up the night sky. Lego packed a ton of detail into a relatively small space with 427 pieces. If you’re lucky enough to get one, you’ll need to shell out $45.

The Captain Marvel and the ASIS exclusive comes with 150 fewer pieces, but there’s still a lot going on. The set includes Captain Marvel, her trusty Flerken, Goose, and Monica Rambeau in flight gear. And the ASIS, that’s where the bulk of the 271 pieces go. This one will also sell for $45 and it will be tough to score one at the show.
