Magic Leap One and Spotify want to turn your home into a concert venue with the help of spatial computing and good beats.
Listening to music is cool, but what if the music was actually part of your environment? Magic Leap One’s Spotify app brings your favorite artists and bands right into your space. All you have to do is buy a Spotify Premium subscription, download the app, and start using Magic Leap’s augmented reality headset to get started.
Spotify Premium users can easily access their favorite tracks through the app. It makes it easy to pause and play songs while using Spotify on your smartphone, tablet, or desktop to control the Magic Leap One Creator Edition’s audio.

What’s cool about the app is that it’s spatially aware, meaning you can pin albums, artists, or tracks to specific rooms around your house. Once content builds, you can collect and put together great playlists or soundscapes for key areas, such as the living room, kitchen, and garage. Think of it as your personal DJ while you shift spaces inside your home.
Spotify isn’t the only app coming to the Magic Leap headset: The Verge notes that the device, which was first introduced as a developer edition in 2018, will also include Angry Birds: First Person Slingshot, Star Wars: Project Porg, and other fun games.
