She’s baaack.
Well, she will be soon: The official Doctor Who YouTube channel on Sunday released a teaser for the upcoming season.
Series 12—Jodie Whittaker’s second as the Thirteenth Doctor—is “coming soon,” according to the 15-second clip. No further details were revealed; fans are invited to “watch this space.”
The video description tips a Nov. 23 release date.
BBC America—the U.S. home of Britain’s long-running sci-fi drama—did not immediately respond to Geek’s request for comment.
Filming for series 12 began earlier this year, with showrunner Chris Chibnall dropping some timey-wimey hints—including a few monster details.
More than 12 years after stampeding onto the Moon to terrorize the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones, the rhinoceros-headed Judoon are back.
The mercenary police force made their debut in 2007’s “Smith and Jones,” on the hunt for Florence Finnegan, a Plasmavore who murdered and drank the blood of the Child Princess of Padrivole Regency 9.
Standing six-and-a-half feet tall, these humanoid rhinos aren’t the calm creatures you find grazing at the zoo: The alien race is known for their strict obedience to the law and brutal efforts in maintaining it.
Now, they’re back and on a deadly mission. But for what? And why has it brought them to western England?
You’ll have to wait until episode six, when IMDb claims the Judoon will “set up base” in Gloucester.
The show, which wasn’t expected to return to screens until “early 2020,” may be an early Christmas present to Whovians. Or perhaps the BBC is taking an unorthodox approach with some pre-season antics before the full series begins.
We’ll find out in 12 days.
In the meantime, read up on what’s to come via IMDb’s episode summaries for chapters one through four, six, nine, and 10.
