Politicians are a favorite target of many comedians—and the sitting president is no exception.
But between Alec Baldwin impressions and late-night-TV monologues, some folks are feeling Donald Trump fatigue.
So Seth Meyers turned to Netflix for help.
The Late Night host’s new streaming special Lobby Baby debuts today with a segment poking fun at President Trump.
For those viewers who are sick of political satire, though, Netflix created a digital button that lets subscribers opt out of that particular bit.
Think of it as a “skip intro” option for a portion of Meyers’ show.
“It dawned on me that because it was on Netflix, there would be this opportunity to put in technology that would allow people to skip it,” he said in a statement published by CNN. “It was a way to build in the response to anyone who would say, ‘Oh, let me guess, there’s going to be jokes about the president.'”
Robbie Praw, Netflix director of original standup comedy programming, told the news site that Meyers came to the company with “this clever idea.”
“We’re thrilled he was able to take advantage of the Netflix experience in such a funny and innovative way,” Praw said.
The skip button is just another joke in Meyers’ special, the former Saturday Night Live writer and cast member explained. The greenery on your up-scale dinner plate, if you will.
“I think, look, sometimes at a fancy restaurant they’ll put parsley on your plate, and you’ll think, ‘Well, that’s a nice touch,’ but you’re not going to eat the parsley,” Meyers said.
