SpaceX’s Mk1 Starship prototype is almost done with its construction phase: On Sunday, Elon Musk uploaded two photos on Twitter and they show rear moving fins being added to the test vehicle.
Each photo, which was shared on Musk’s Twitter account, gives a full body view of the Mk1 Starship prototype, one of two prototypes that followed SpaceX’s Starhopper vehicle. The Mk1 Starship prototype’s three raptors are already installed, while the top half with forward fins and header tanks will be stacked on Wednesday. The Mk1 Starship prototype’s fairing will also be mounted by Saturday, according to Musk.

The Mk1 and the Mk2 prototypes are designed to have at least three Raptor engines and reach orbit, unlike the Starhopper prototype, which only had one Raptor engine and stayed within Earth’s atmosphere during hop tests.

This weekend, Musk is expected to reveal a major design update on the Starship and Super Heavy, the spaceship that can fit 100 passengers and the massive rocket that SpaceX is building to send people to Mars, the moon, and other space destinations, Space.com noted. The discussion will be held at SpaceX’s facilities in Boca Chica, Texas on Saturday.
