Stephen King recently gave Doctor Sleep the seal of approval, calling it a “hell of a good movie” and fans are excited about the film.
On Monday, the horror author shared his thoughts on Doctor Sleep on Twitter and apparently, it will make you sleep with the lights on.
“Doctor Sleep is coming in November,” King wrote on Twitter. “It’s a hell of a good movie. And a hell of a scary one.”

Based on King’s book of the same same, Doctor Sleep is a follow-up to The Shining, a film adaptation that King reportedly didn’t like, according to Mashable. Danny Torrance, the protagonist of Doctor Sleep, tries to navigate adulthood and deal with the trauma of past events at The Overlook Hotel. When he meets a young girl who also shares the gift of the “shine,” they decide to work together to fight sinister entities that try to kill them.
The Twitter community is also excited about Doctor Sleep and can’t wait for the film to hit theaters soon.
“I can’t freaking wait for this movie,” one person wrote. “I loved the book so much and #ewanmcgregor looks like he captures grown-up Danny very well indeed.”
Another commented, “Love the shot of him looking through the door, all the callbacks to The Shining were well used in the trailer. And Rebecca Ferguson as Rose the Hat? Can. Not. Wait.”

#DoctorSleep was a very rich story and definitely feeds off (pun intended) The Shining book and movie (I read them consecutively). A bit nervous about how they’ll show some of the effects that make the book so good.
