Joker recently had a strong opening weekend, and one fan pointed out a strange and hilarious connection between the chilling film and 2007’s Superbad.
Twitter user @minalopezavina noticed that one of Arthur Fleck’s outfits is almost the same as McLovin’s and the resemblance is a bit weird.
Ok but why is it the same outfit? #JokerMovie pic.twitter.com/7Gg5nOZVNR

Both characters are wearing a tan-colored vest and a white button-down shirt. It’s almost as if their suits came from the same wardrobe, except, there are clearly some differences between the two: Arthur Fleck is in full Joker mode, while McLovin is looking sharp for the ladies.
The suits are not the only connection to address here: ComicBook.com reported that Joker director Todd Phillips directed some comedy movies before the villain-themed flick, including Due Date, The Hangover, and Road Trip.
#Joker director Todd Phillips says ‘comedies don’t work anymore’ because of ‘woke culture’ — ‘All the funny guys are like, ‘F–k this shit … I don’t want to offend you’ … ‘I’m out”

Phillips’ recent comments on comedy have also resulted in some criticism: The director explained how “woke culture” could be challenging for funny movies.
“Go try to be funny nowadays with this woke culture,” Phillips told Vanity Fair. “There were articles written about why comedies don’t work anymore — I’ll tell you why, because all the f—ing funny guys are like, ‘F— this s—, because I don’t want to offend you.’”
Industry members, including Joker actor Marc Maron, have slammed Phillips for his insensitive statements, CBR noted.
“There are still lines to be rode. If you like to ride a line, you can still ride a line. If you want to take chances, you can still take chances,” Maron said on a “WTF Podcast” episode. “Really, the only thing that’s off the table, culturally, at this juncture –and not even entirely– is shamelessly punching down for the sheer joy of hurting people.”
