A year ago Microsoft first rolled out Xbox All Access, a new payment model that had more in common with premium smartphones than video game consoles. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars upfront, customers could purchase an Xbox as well as its online services and pay over installments. It was an intriguing idea that never seemed to go anywhere.
However, with Microsoft seemingly on surer footing going into the next generation, Xbox All Access is back and ready to help you upgrade.
The core idea remains the same. Pay $20 per month for two years and you’ll get all the Xbox stuff you need. That includes a console (from the Xbox One X to the Xbox SAD), a wireless controller, and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate including both online play and access to the growing subscription library.
It’s not a bad deal, especially as Game Pass becomes one of the quietest yet best bargains in gaming. But with a brand new Xbox a little over a year away, why commit to the old one? Well Xbox All Access subscribers who stick with their payments for 18 months will be able to upgrade to Project Scarlett when it launches in Holiday 2020. So that might be the cheapest, quickest way to play the best version of Halo Infinite.
