If there has ever been a time to go big with regard to Star Wars, it is now. With the Skywalker Saga concluding in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian debuting in November, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order coming our way soon all in the next few months, there’s no reason to play it safe. It’s Star Wars season. Act accordingly.
Adidas? They’re acting accordingly. We recently reported on their upcoming series of Star Wars collaborations and even showed you some of the kicks the capsule would include. This week, the full lineup of the first capsule was revealed and it’s a fitting tribute to perhaps the single biggest year in Star Wars history.
The line will be released in a series of three capsules: one celebrating lightsabers, the next starships, and the final touching on different beloved Star Wars characters. The Lightsaber pack, which we covered in our last post, is coming your way first on Nov. 1. This capsule will contain eight sneakers, each colorway adorning a different adidas Basketball silhouette.
The Harden Vol. 4 features a speckled purple colorway paying homage to the iconic lightsaber wielded by Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy. The blue lightsaber held by a number of characters across the saga will be the inspiration for the colorway on Derrick Rose’s D Rose 10 for adults (the Dame 5 and Harden Vol. 4 will be available in youth sizing as well). That same blue colorway will adorn the D.O.N Issue #1 in youth sizing. Rounding out the core lightsaber colors is the green Dame 5, a tribute to the saber Luke Skywalker has in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi after losing his blue one in Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back.
That’s not all, though – you know they aren’t going to leave the Sith out. Darth Vader gets not one, but two sneaker colorways here, including the killer (and appropriately-named) Crazy 1 as well as the Rivalry Lo.
You can’t give Vader a sneaker without giving one to his oldest friend and greatest rival, Obi-Wan Kenobi. His colorway is a crisp grey and light-blue version of the old-school adidas Top Ten basketball shoe. Rounding out the pack is an adidas Pro Next sporting a cartoony mural of characters from both the dark side and the light.
In addition to the shoes, a line of apparel will be available to rock alongside them. That line includes everything from crewneck sweatshirts to hoodies, so make sure you’re picking up the full outfit when it comes time to cop the sneakers.
The best part? This is just the first lineup. There’s more to come as Star Wars season commences – maybe we’ll finally get more details on that X-Wing Ultra Boost we teased a while back. While you wait though, keep an eye on the adidas website, where you’ll be able to pick up shoes fit for a Jedi (or maybe something a little bit darker) on Nov. 1.
