Imagine a random doorway appearing right in front of you. Would you venture to the other side or make a run for it? Portals, a new sci-fi movie, explores this eerie scenario in an anthology-style format.
Set in the future, Portals follows a research facility that develops a black hole on our planet and the consequences that follow this dark creation, Gizmodo reported. When these unknown portals begin popping up around Earth, people either avoid them or travel to a dangerous dimension.
In the trailer, we see a family driving on a road trip, when suddenly, one of the weird portals comes up in the middle of the road. Operators are trying to respond to various 911 calls involving these strange voids, which appear to seriously harm those that explore them. While the dark doors keep appearing, people are trying to bust the mystery behind them, only to get injured or lose their lives in the process.
As a story broken into four segments, Portals is led by a diverse group of directors: Liam O’Donnell (Beyond Skyline), Gregg Hale (V/H/S 2), Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project), and Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes For Us).
Portals is arriving just in time for Halloween, too: The anthology film is coming to On Demand and select theaters on October 25.
