The holiday season is nearly upon us. And whether you need sustenance for traveling or an excuse to avoid awkward social interactions, Hulu now has you covered.
The streaming service this week launched downloads—available initially to iOS users on the Hulu (No Ads) plan.
Save thousands of shows and movies to your smartphone or tablet to enjoy on the go: Catch up with new episodes of The Handmaid’s Tale during the morning commute, or relish in old favorites like This Is Us from 35,000 feet in the air.
“Now, with Hulu, you can watch what you want, when you want… even when you don’t have an Internet connection,” product management vice president Jim Denney and director Helena Cerna wrote in a blog announcement.
Access content via the Downloads tab at the bottom of the iOS screen; click “See What’s Downloadable” to browse a catalogue of material.
Living with FOMO over that show all your friends are talking about? Dying to rewatch a favourite film from childhood? Search for any title, and if it’s available to download, you’ll see an arrow icon on the details page.
Users can hoard no more than 25 titles across five devices, and have up to 30 days to watch the content. Downloads expire two days after starting playback, but can be renewed once you’re online again.
The feature is coming “soon” to Android devices, according to Cerna and Denney. There is no word on whether it will also extend to other Hulu subscription tiers.
In the meantime, check out everything that’s streaming on Hulu this month.
