Lots of stuff happening in the DC Universe these days, from the climax of Doomsday Clock to Batwoman making her solo debut on television. After some rough years, it looks like the company that brought us Batman, Superman, and more is getting back on their feet across multiple media. DC toys have long been pretty awesome, as the company licenses rights to a bunch of really cool studios that make wickedly realistic, charmingly cartoony and everything in between. BIG-FIGS Tribute Series Superman
Might as well start off with the big guy. The Last Son of Krypton has gone through a lot, but we’ll always have a soft spot for the old-school Superman in his corny leotard and red boots. Measuring eighteen inches high, this chiseled action figure comes with a real cloth costume that makes it look like an Alex Ross painting. There’s not a ton of articulation on this guy, but seven points do let you enact some of his most famous poses, and just the sheer scale of this figure earns him a spot on the toy shelf.

One:12 Darkseid Figure
Mezco’s One:12 Collective line is an experiment to see just how much detail they can pack into a six inch figure, and their take on the craggy-faced ruler of Apokolips is out of this world. Darkseid is probably the most notable character Jack Kirby introduced in his cosmos-spanning Fourth World saga, and has set himself up as the Big Bad of the DC Universe. This figure blazes new trails in toy construction – it’s the first ever fully poseable action figure cast from holystone, and features light-up Omega Beam eyes, magnetically attached chestplates and even a Mother Box for all of your intergalactic travel needs.

Tamashii Nations Harley Quinn Figure
The popularity arc of Harley Quinn is a crazy thing – from her first appearance in the animated Batman series as a female sidekick for the Joker, she’s grown in fame until now she’s basically anchoring the upcoming Birds of Prey movie. This richly detailed figure is based on actress Margot Robbie’s portrayal of the deluded shrink turned criminal, and features carefully designed jointing to give her lots of poseability without disrupting her natural lines. Multiple interchangeable hands and weapons will let you position here in all sorts of goofily violent ways.

Aardman Action Pack
One of the most compelling things about the DC universe is how its iconic heroes can be re-interpreted in so many ways by individual creators. You’ve got the grim and gritty Zack Snyder films on one hand, and then this goofy take on Batman, Superman, Robin, Catwoman, and the Joker from legendary British animation studio Aardman, famous for the Wallace & Gromit shorts. All five of the heroes and villains are modeled after the clay figures used to produce shorts for the DC Nation shorts that Cartoon Network aired, and they’ll make you crack up every time you look at them.

Sideshow Collectibles Lobo Figure
Nobody expected Lobo to be a breakthrough character when he was introduced in the pages of 1983’s Omega Men series, but sometimes it’s the unlikely ones that surprise you. Reintroduced in the over-the-top violent style of the 90s, he swiftly became DC’s answer to Wolverine, riding his space hog through the galaxy laying down whoopass on anybody who bugged him. This Sideshow Collectibles 1:6 scale figure is a dynamite collector’s item, with a custom body sculpt, real fabric costuming including a faux leather vest with patches and pins, multiple hands and his trademark metal chain and pistol.

Kaiyodo Complex Deathstroke
Originally created as an adversary for the Teen Titans during that book’s breakthrough 1980s run, Deathstroke has moved on to hassle nearly every hero in the DC universe at one point or another, as well as maintaining his own series multiple times. Slade Wilson is a vengeful assassin who will go to any lengths to complete his mission. He’s all about fluid action and no wasted motion, which is why Kaiyodo Complex is the perfect design studio to make him come to life. This figure boasts tons of articulation – 46 points – so you can twist and torque him into just about any action pose you want. Throw in tons of weapons and accessories and some of the best metallic paint we’ve ever seen on a figure and he’s a keeper.

Funko Pop Booster Gold & Blue Beetle
Both Booster Gold and the Blue Beetle had been around for a bit before joining the Justice League, but it was in the pages of that book’s late-80s run that the pair became best buddies in one of the most iconic bromances in comic book history. Booster is a washed-up jock from the future who skipped out to the past with a bit of technology to give him an edge, and Beetle is a genius inventor who just wanted to do good in the world. Together, the blue and gold duo brought comic relief and a lot of heart to the DC Universe until they killed Blue Beetle off to give gravitas to one of their interminable crossovers.

MAFEX Cyborg Figure
Victor Stone was a high school football hero until a tragic accident left him with most of his body damaged beyond repair. Luckily, he was the son of a cybernetics genius who built his boy a new body made out of shiny chrome and high-end parts. As Cyborg, he was a core member of the Teen Titans for decades before getting the call-up in the Justice League movie. This sculpt from Medicom’s MAFEX line is completely insane – the level of detail in his mechanical body is like nothing we’ve seen in a six inch figure, and you can barely see the joints. Vic comes with a pair of faces, a bunch of weapons, a shield and a movie-style Mother Box.

Kotobukiya Batwoman Statue
Now that she’s got her own TV series, we can only expect Kate Kane’s star to rise even higher in the DC universe. The flame-haired Batwoman is making her own way in a Gotham City without a Dark Knight, using her military training and family connections to try and beat back the Cult of Crime and other nefarious villains. This statue from Kotobukiya’s Bishoujo line depicts the crimefighter inspired by a drawing by Japanese artist Shunya Yamashita. Batwoman beckons her prey on with one hand, ready to lay down a serious beating. You can even take off the mask and red hair to see Kate’s real face.

Swamp Thing Deluxe Action Figure
Originally created for DC’s horror books as a shambling, mindless monster, once the Swamp Thing came under the gifted pen of Alan Moore he helped kick off the company’s 80s resurgence by pairing mature, intelligent themes with fantasy, sci-fi, and superheroes. Swampy has gone through a number of incarnations since, but one of the most visually spectacular came from artist Yanick Paquette in the New 52 reboot. This awesome figure captures Swamp Thing in full flower, with a giant pair of vegetable wings erupting from his back and removable shield and sword that attack to his tree-trunk arms.

Tamashii Nations Wonder Woman Figure
We’re already getting psyched up for Wonder Woman 1984, which will continue the adventures of the Amazon princess in Man’s world in a new decade with a new supporting cast. We won’t be able to watch it until 2020, but if you’re looking for a Diana for your toy shelf, you won’t do much better than this fig from Tamashii Nations. Modeled after the anatomy of actress Gal Gadot, it’s painted with an advanced digital coloring technique for ultimate realism. Wonder Woman is incredibly mobile and poseable and comes with two heads, four hands and a trio of weapons.
