Happy holi-daze: Following their cannabis-infused turkey gravy launch, Kiva Confections announced a limited-edition pot-based hot chocolate.
The company’s “fast-acting” technology, which isolates individual molecules so they can be absorbed one at a time, allows for speedier saturation than traditional edibles.
Consumers should start feeling merry and bright in 15 minutes or less.
That’s downright hasty compared to the typical onset of 90-plus minutes, creating what Kiva called “a more immediate and predictable experience every time.”
“We are excited to continue Kiva Confections’ mission in making cannabis accessible to a variety of consumers through new and innovative products,” CEO Scott Palmer said in a statement.
The technology may be complex—it involves terms like “encapsulated molecules” and “endocannabinoid receptors”—but the directions are easy.
Just add the powdered chocolate to hot milk or water and stir.
Move over, Dirty Snowman: Each pouch of Kiva’s single-serve drink is blended with cacao and infused with 5mg of THC, “making this the adult version of everyone’s favorite childhood holiday treat,” the company said.
A little naughty and a little nice, the limited-edition product is on sale for $5 at more than 40 California dispensaries and via Goddess Delivers (while supplies last).
Everyone else will have to deal with holiday stress the usual way: Hide in your childhood bedroom with Netflix, a bottle of whiskey, and a bag full of THC gummies.
