This probably isn’t something you would like to see while enjoying Australia’s sunny weather…
Residents at a Queensland retirement village witnessed a giant carpet python devouring its “lunch” off the roof of a building and it was a stomach-churning sight.
The reptile, which was photographed at Sanctuary Park Church of Christ at Nambour, was flexing to swallow its meal—another giant lizard.
“Residents got quite the show last week when this #carpetpython landed on their doorstep,” Churches of Christ in Queensland said in the Facebook post. “With the drought, many native animals from the neighboring national park are looking for water and food – this reptile found both!”
Carpet pythons are known for showing up in random places…including outdoor decks and crawl spaces in Australia. Thankfully there are always professional snake catchers a phone call away, just in case you run into one of these creatures at home.
