You thought it would just be one shoe? A while back we shared with you a look at an upcoming Star Wars-themed adidas Ultra Boost that will be releasing later this year in the lead-up to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It was hard to believe that would be the only shoe the brand released in collaboration with Star Wars this year considering how many monumental Star Wars milestones we’re hitting. Between The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian, there had to be a few more shoes on the way.
As it turns out, there are – and just in time to capitalize on all the hype behind that new trailer that has Reylo shippers pulling their hair out. News of adidas Basketball’s upcoming line of Star Wars kicks broke last week and it’s a doozy of a collection. This line will feature six (SIX?!) shoes ranging from the signature sneakers of a handful of NBA superstars to some adidas Basketball classics. Each is coming in a Star Wars-themed colorway, with four of the designs having been released so far.

The line will include the Dame 5, Harden Vol. 4, D Rose 10, D.O.N. Issue 1, Crazy 1, and Pro Next 2019. That’s four signature sneakers and two adidas classics. The colorways released so far include the Dame 5, Harden Vol. 4, D.O.N. Issue 1, and Crazy 1. The signature sneakers on the roster seem to feature colorways inspired by lightsabers.
The D.O.N. Issue 1, signature sneaker of Donovan Michell, is no stranger to geeky crossovers with its first four colorways being inspired by different Spider-Man suits. It’s coming in a black colorway with electric blue highlights that resemble the hue of blue lightsabers.
Damian Lillard’s Dame 5 is in a similar black colorway with light green accents, largely resembling the lightsaber Luke Skywalker wields in Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.
Houston Rockets superstar James Harden’s is a bit trickier to pin – to call it inspired by a lightsaber is perhaps presumptuous. However, it does seem like a safe bet. It sports a black and purple pattern that seems to resemble that of Mace Windu’s lightsaber in the prequel trilogy. Big gold lace guards seem to lock this theory in, as Windu’s lightsaber hilt features a great deal of gold detailing.
The Crazy 1 breaks the trend with a colorway that seems to be inspired by classic Sith aesthetics. It’s a big, bold shoe primarily dressed in black but with bright red detailing on the sole and in the shoe’s sock lining.
