Instagram’s new Stories feature lets you post multiple photos or videos at once.
With none of its usual pomp and circumstance, the social network this week launched Layout, allowing users to incorporate up to six images in one slide.
Boasting the same functionality as Instagram’s standalone app of the same name, Stories Layout is nestled between the Boomerang and Superzoom tools. Swipe to find half a dozen different patterns offering two, three, four, or six empty boxes.
There is currently no option to add a live filter: Sorry, but you’ll have to paint those freckles on yourself. The usual post-production overlays, stickers, text, and drawing aids, however, are still available.
Layout is the latest in a string of Stories updates: After testing “Donations” stickers and music-based “Reels” clips, Instagram added (the already bloated) Create mode and revamped its Explore section.
The content-sharing platform has also taken steps to boost safety and accessibility.
It recently cracked down on posts about diet products and cosmetic surgery (yet enables “skin-smoothing” filters), ditched the creepy “Following” activity tab, and finally introduced an age-verification tool.
Plus, in an effort to curb cyberbullying, Instagram rolled out the new “Restrict” tool that makes it easier to block unwelcome users, and now warns folks before they post potentially offensive comments and captions.
‘Grammers may also notice “False Information” labels on posts flagged as fake news.
