After years of games and decades of books, The Witcher series has already built up a large fanbase that knows Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy lore inside and out. However, the recent Netflix series has introduced tons of new people to the Continent, and some of them are a bit confused about the exact chronology when it comes to the Geralt of Rivia’s tale. So to help, Netflix put out a complete timeline of Witcher season one.

Why would a TV show need a timeline? This isn’t The Legend of Zelda or anything, but the events in Witcher’s first season are surprisingly non-linear. Different episodes follow different characters at different points in time before their stories converge. Plus, characters like Geralt and Yennefer don’t age as quickly as normal people thanks to various magicks. So they still look young and ready for the hot tub even though the season spans over 50 years. No one wants to see bad old-age makeup on Henry Cavill and Anya Chalotra.
