‘Skyrim Grandma’ Fan Mod Beats ‘Elders Scrolls VI’ to the Punch

There’s a reason why Bethesda kept on re-releasing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim last decade. Everyone and their grandma loves it. Literally. One of the most wholesome YouTubers for the fantasy RPG epic is 83-year-old “Skyrim Grandma” Shirley Curry from Ohio. For years she’s streamed herself adventuring across Tamriel, talking to dragons as well as her grandkids. Bethesda already announced that it planned to celebrate Curry’s fandom by making her an NPC in the upcoming Elder Scrolls 6.

However, considering the pace that Bethesda makes these massive games (they haven’t even shown anything real from Starfield let alone a next-gen Elder Scrolls) fans rightly realized that this old woman needed to get in the game sooner rather than later. So check out this trailer for an upcoming Shirley Curry Skyrim fan mod.

Detailed on Reddit, and reported by GameRant, this Skyrim fan mod turns Curry into a barbarian for players to recruit. As your follower she’ll shoot arrows and use two-handed weapons, just like the real Shirley, and spout her catchphrase “good morning, grandkid.” The mod has been in the works since November 2018 following a Change.org petition and is slated for release early this year. The trailer was uploaded by Daniel Kemp while the Reddit answers came from user “phantom-scribbler” who worked on the mod in some capacity.

We doubt Bethesda will get too upset about this fan mod beating their own plans for a Shirley tribute to the punch. Mods are a huge part of the Skyrim community, and Bethesda is one of the more accepting publishers when it comes to that stuff. Besides, the more Elder Scrolls games with Shirley Curry tributes the better.
