CES 2020, like every past CES before it, is chock full of nifty new gadgets and tech-upgraded versions of existing products. And if you’re Amazon, one of the upgrades you’re pushing is Alexa-integration, turning every single device under the sun into another tendril of a connected smart home. What do they want us to talk to this year? How about enhanced Alexa features in smart new TVs, cars, and security devices.

Using Amazon in your Lamborghini sounds whiplash-inducing when it comes to the contrast of those two companies. But the 2020 Huracon Evo is getting Alexa support, as are Rivian electric vehicles the R1S and R1T. Rivian is also preparing 100,000 electric Amazon delivery vans, if that matters to you as a consumer. If you’re not ready to buy a new car yet though Amazon is continuing to work with partners like Anker, Garmin, and Nextbase on Alexa Echo Auto products for your existing car. Even gas stations like Exxon and Mobil will soon let you use Alexa to fill up at the pump.

The Fire TV Cube sounds like a parody of a dystopian Amazon device, but the set-top box is a real thing. And it has all sorts of new Alexa voice commands for more convenient content consumption. Along with streaming movies and music, users can check the weather and shopping lists and connected security cameras. Even without the cube, Amazon is rolling out new Fire TV tools for manufacturers like LG, Samsung, and Skyworth to use when making their own “Fire TV Edition” smart televisions.

We wouldn’t blame you for being a bit skeptical of Ring, Amazon’s home security brand, because of recent reports of just how quietly yet tightly integrated its products are with police departments. But for better or worse, some people are into that. New Ring products at CES include Ring Access Controller Pro for activating security gates to let it guests (or Amazon packages), as well as new Ring lighting products like Smart LED Light Bulbs and Smart Lighting Solar Devices.
