Just in time for the holiday shopping rush, Lego has revealed the latest addition to their fantastic Creator Expert Modular Buildings. The Bookshop is the perfect addition to collectors’ every-growing cityscapes!
The box is bursting with just over 2,500 pieces and it packs tons of interesting features into a relatively compact build. Birch Books sits on one half of the block while the other is occupied by a two-story walk-up.
There’s so much to take in here, as you can see on the back of the box. Architectural elements like the bay window, curving front staircase, and pedimented dormers make the house at 107 pop — those aqua-colored bricks don’t hurt, either!
The three-story bookshop sports an arched transom over its entry, matching dormer on the top floor, and fanlights above the second-story windows. Lego’s designers nailed the look of the birch tree out front, too, with hints of black poking through its tall, white trunks.
For a bit of added fun, there’s a bird’s nest that you can perch atop one of its branches. And check out that awesome little toy airplane. Fortunately, Lego included a folding ladder so that a responsible adult can easily retrieve the plane if it happens to get stuck like this.
As wonderful as Lego’s Modular Buildings are to look at, they’re also designed to be easy to play with. Each floor pops on and off easily so you can set up scenes or let the younger Lego fans in your house stage their own minfig shenanigans.
Open up the ground floor to browse the shop or check out the basement next door. Head upstairs to check out the living quarters, or make your way up to the roof to check out the surrounding cityscape. Don’t forget to have someone check in on the pet chameleon!
