Coming along for the ride are payloads and critical supplies for more than 250 science investigations and technology demonstrations that will take place during Expeditions 61 and 62 at the orbiting laboratory.
Approximately 10 minutes after launch, the Dragon spacecraft will reach its preliminary orbit, deploy its solar arrays, and engage in thruster firings to reach the space station.

When the vehicle arrives at the orbiting laboratory on Dec. 7, Expedition 61 Commander Luca Parmitano of the ESA (European Space Agency) will maneuver the Dragon, with NASA astronaut Andrew Morgan will step in with backup operations. NASA astronaut Jessica Meir will also monitor telemetry during the Dragon’s approach.
Once the Dragon is captured, mission control in Houston will send commands to the station’s giant arm to rotate and place it on the bottom of the space station’s Harmony port.
