Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell returns to train young fighter pilots in the movie Top Gun: Maverick.
The movie, which stars Tom Cruise as Mitchell, brings the seasoned aviator back to the skies, as he prepares a new group of Top Gun graduates for a dangerous mission. Even though it’s been more than 30 years since Top Gun premiered in theaters, this new film hits all the nostalgic spots.
When Mitchell returns to his base, he encounters a major surprise: Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of his late pal Lt. Nick Bradshaw (“Goose”). As the pair crosses paths, it’s hard to not let the waterworks start.
This new generation of aviators has no idea what they’re in for though: Dogfight exercises, unexpected deaths, and new heights await for them, along with Mitchell, who will be their guiding light.
Top Gun: Maverick hits theaters on June 26, 2020.
